Description

—  Why clay?  —

Ghassoul is renowned for its rich mineral content, which contributes to its numerous benefits for skin and hair:

Silica

Approximately 60% of ghassoul clay is composed of silica, which helps to strengthen and smooth the skin and hair.

  • Skin – silica helps to strengthen the skin’s connective tissues, promoting firmness and elasticity. It also aids in the regeneration of skin cells, leading to a smoother and more youthful complexion
  • Hair – silica strengthens hair strands, reducing breakage and promoting healthy growth. It also adds shine and improves the overall texture of the hair

Magnesium

Making up around 25% of the clay, magnesium is essential for maintaining healthy skin by reducing inflammation and providing hydration.

  • Skin – magnesium has anti-inflammatory properties that help calm irritated skin and reduce redness. It also supports hydration by improving the skin’s barrier function, preventing moisture loss
  • Hair – magnesium helps to strengthen hair follicles, reducing hair loss and promoting healthier, thicker hair

Calcium

About 2.3% of the clay is calcium, which is vital for skin regeneration and maintaining the skin’s natural barrier.

  • Skin – calcium is essential for skin regeneration and repair. It helps to maintain the skin’s natural barrier, keeping it hydrated and protected from environmental damage
  • Hair – calcium strengthens hair and helps to prevent hair loss. It also supports the overall health of the scalp

Sodium

Also around 2.3%, sodium helps to balance the skin’s moisture levels.

  • Skin – sodium helps to balance the skin’s moisture levels, ensuring it stays hydrated and supple. It also aids in the absorption of other beneficial minerals
  • Hair – sodium helps to cleanse the scalp and hair, removing excess oils and build-up without stripping away natural moisture

Iron

Present at about 0.5%, iron contributes to the clay’s colour and helps to improve skin tone and texture.

  • Skin – iron improves blood circulation, which can enhance the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the skin. This helps to improve skin tone and texture, giving it a healthy glow
  • Hair – iron supports healthy hair growth by improving blood flow to the scalp, ensuring that hair follicles receive the necessary nutrients

Ingredients

  • 100% pure and organic Moroccan Ghassoul Clay, 200g

Usage

  • Fill a shallow bowl with a scoop or two of clay and slowly add hot water. Leave the mixture for a few minutes, without stirring.

    • Gently stir the mixture, adding more water if necessary, until a smooth consistency is obtained.

      • Spread the mixture over your face and body, avoiding the eye and lip area and leave for 5-10 minutes before rinsing off. Do not allow the clay to dry on the skin as the clay only ‘works’ when damp. If you feel the clay drying, dab a few drops of water/rose water to the area.

        • For a quick facial cleanse, simply put a little dry clay powder into the palm of your hand and mix with warm water. Spread over the face and rinse immediately with water. Finish with a few splashes of cold water to help close the pores.

        Sustainable Packaging

Simply pop your empty kraft bag into the paper recycling bin. 100% recyclable.

This clay will be dispatched in a recyclable box with biodegradable padding and paper.
