Our ingredients policy

High performance, quality, safe, natural and organic ingredients are our absolute priority.

Animal testing

We never do it and are certified cruelty free, vegan and vegetarian under PETA.

No animal ingredients

None of our ingredients are derived directly from animals. All our products are suitable for vegans and vegetarians.


The majority of our formulations are preservative-free (our oils for example). We do use preservatives when absolutely essential for product safety but only in products that contain water (as water allows for bacteria, yeast etc). We use very low concentrations of the highest grade, broad-spectrum preservatives (1%). Our chosen preservatives have been given the thumbs up by the Soil Association for use in natural and organic skincare.

Vitamin E

We only use a premium natural source of vitamin E.

Aloe vera leaf juice

The juice from the leaves of aloe vera plants contains active ingredients to help cool, soothe and soften the skin. Aloe vera has been used for centuries to treat a variety of skin ailments, including dry, damaged skin, sunburn, blisters and burns

Apricot kernel oil

Apricot kernels are crushed to produce this light oil, which revitalises, nourishes and moisturises dry, sensitive or inflamed skin. Its wonderfully light texture makes it easily absorbed into the epidermis or uppermost levels of the skin. Naturally high in vitamins A and C, it protects skin from external stresses due to its regenerative and soothing properties


Water! Water is used in the formulation of virtually every type of cosmetic and personal care product. Water is primarily used as a solvent as it dissolves many of the ingredients that impart skin benefits

Argan oil

Known as the ‘Gold of Morocco’ this rich, soothing oil is extracted from the fruit of the argan tree (Argania Spinosa) which grows primarily in Morocco. It is super moisturising, conditioning, naturally rich in essential fatty acids and vitamin E and an antioxidant that helps protect the skin. Our argan oil is produced in our family owned co-operative in Morocco.

Avocado butter

Avocado butter is a natural extract of avocado, rich in vitamins A, D and E, unsaturated fatty acids and lecithin which are all beneficial to the general health and the health of your skin. Avocado leaves your skin soft and supple and helps sooth and hydrate the skin.

Avocado oil

The flesh of the avocado contains nearly 50% plant oil. Highly nutritious, it is a good source of vitamin E, magnesium and linoleic acid, an essential fatty acid that leaves the skin smooth and soft.

Chamomile Essential Oil/Extract

This herb takes its name from the Greek kamai (ground) and melon (apple) because of the sweet apple-like fragrance it releases when crushed. This oil is perfect to soothe and calm the skin.


Used as a fragrance, citronellol occurs naturally in some plants, including roses and geraniums. A useful mosquito repellent!

Coco glucoside

Derived from coconut and fruit sugars, this is a fantastic foaming cleanser. It is ultra-mild and one of the most gentle cleansing agents to be found making it idea for products designed for delicate, fragile and sensitive skin.

Coconut oil

Extracted from the kernels of coconut seeds, this oil is incredibly effective on sensitive skin, eczema, nappy rash (it has antibacterial and antifungal properties helping ward off infection) and cradle cap. It is rich in vitamin E and has a delicate fragrance.

Co-enzyme Q10

Co-enzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is a substance similar to a vitamin. It is found in every cell of your body. The body produces CoQ10, and the cells use it to produce the energy your body needs for cell growth and maintenance. It energises your skin, helps repair damage and makes sure the skin cells are healthy. CoQ10 protects against photo-ageing (premature ageing due to over exposure to the sun) and helps stimulate collagen production (helping protect against wrinkles).

Cucumber Extract

Cucumber is perfect for sensitive skin. It calms and soothes irritated skin helping soften and repair damage.

Emulsifying wax NF (Cetearyl Alcohol & Polysorbate 60)

A mild non-ionic self-emulsifying wax providing excellent stability.


Ethylhexylglycerin is a glyceryl ether used as a weak preservative and skin conditioning agent. It is a preservative that has been given the seal of approval by the Soil Association.

Frankincense Essential Oil

Frankincense is an aromatic resin collected as droplets from the trunk of the tree. It has a warm, spicy aroma and is calming to the mind and respiratory system. It is restorative to dry and ageing skin.


Geraniol is a naturally occurring scent ingredient naturally found in various essential oils such as rose and citronella.

Geranium Essential

This essential oil provides a wonderfully uplifting rose-like scent. It has restorative and balancing properties and is considered hormonally balancing (it can also ease PMS and menopausal symptoms). It is mainly used for its toning properties and although suitable for all skin types it is mainly used for mature skin.

Ghassoul (rhassoul) Clay

A high quality natural mineral clay sourced from the Atlas Mountains in Morocco. It can replace soap, shampoo, conditioner and facial cleansers.

Glyceryl Oleate

Glyceryl Oleate is the ester of glycerin and oleic acid. It is produced from oils that contain high concentrations of oleic acid, such as olive oil, peanut oil, teaseed oil or pecan oil.

Grapefruit Essential Oil

Grapefruit contains a high content of vitamin C, vitamin E and a large amount of beneficial antioxidants. It is a non-comedogenic antioxidant acting which mimics a preservative helping to naturally extend the shelf life of some skincare products.

Hylauronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid is a natural element of skin, present throughout the human body. The magic of this ingredient lies in its ability to retain moisture.

Lauryl Glucoside

A sugar and lipid based surfactant used as a foaming agent, conditioner or emulsifier.

Lavender Flowers Powder

Lavender is one of the most fragrant of all herbs.  It has been used since ancient times for perfumes, for bathing, for wound healing, and as a natural insect repellent.  Lavender helps treat acne, eczema, psoriasis and has anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antibacterial and toning properties.

Lemon Extract

Lemon extract is rich in vitamin A, vitamin C, potassium, iron, phosphorus and calcium. It is perfect for all skin types. It is refreshing and has skin tightening and toning properties.

Lemongrass essential oil

Lemongrass essential oil is extracted from a scented grass. Apart from its refreshing lemon aroma, it has toning, sebum reducing and microbial benefits and is particularly great for oily skin.

Lime Essential Oil

Lime essential oil is extracted by the cold compression of fresh lime peels or by steam distillation of its dried peels. Lime is rich in vitamin A, vitamin C, potassium, iron, phosphorus, and calcium. Perfect for any type of skin, it provides a wonderful fresh-lime scent and skin-refreshing properties.


Limonene is found in the peel of citrus fruit, giving oranges and lemons their distinctive smell. Used as a fragrance.


Linalool is a fragrance found in many flowers and spice plants. Studies have shown that that its smell can reduce stress.

Mandarin Essential Oil

Mandarin essential oil has a warm, citrus, faintly floral aroma. It is one of the safest essential oils and is often recommended for children and during pregnancy. It is a cheery, uplifting, soothing oil and is particularly good for calming the nervous system.

Mango butter

Mangos are naturally high in vitamin A, vitamin C and Beta Carotene. The fruit extract prevents the skin from drying and helps prevent the onset of wrinkles by reducing degeneration of skin cells and restoring flexibility.

Melon Extract

Melon is a great skin toner and cleanser and helps to firm the pores. High in vitamins A and C it helps the skin repair by increasing the rate of new cell formation. It acts as an anti-oxidant and offers proteins to smooth and soften the skin.


Oatmeal is a perfect addition to lotions, creams and moisturisers as it helps soothe and calm sensitive skin. Oatmeal is often found in baby products as it leaves a silky soft feeling and can help in the fight against skin conditions such as eczema.

Olive Oil/Olive powder

Olive oil is naturally packed with anti-ageing antioxidants and hydrating squalene, making it superb for skincare. Recent research has shown that it has an excellent moisturising effect on the skin and leaves a breathable protective film that seals in moisture.

Palmarosa Essential Oil

Palmarosa is a flowering grass native to India and from the same family as Citronella and Lemongrass. The essential oil is distilled from the freshly dried leaves of the plant. It has a fresh, floral, sweet rosy scent similar to Rose Geranium and is used to help protect skin from cracking.

Petitgrain Essential Oil

This essential oil was originally obtained from the small green unripe fruits of the bitter orange tree. The name was retained after the leaves and twigs became the main source of the oil. Petitgrain has balancing and uplifting properties and helps to relieve tension.


This is used as a stabiliser and preservative. It has been given the seal of approval as a preservative by the Soil Association.

Plum Fruit Extract

Plum oil has a rich, nutty fragrance. Rich in oleic acid, gamma and alpha tocopherols and beta sitosterols, plum kernel oil makes a wonderful addition to facial products including eye creams, serums, and lip treatments. Plum oil is rich in oleic acid, linoleic acid, vitamin E, vitamin B and beta-carotene.

Pumice Stone

Pumice is formed from lava that is full of gas. The lava is ejected and shot through the air during a volcanic eruption where the gasses escape leaving the rock full of holes. It is used as a light exfoliator.

Raspberry Fruit Extract

Raspberry Extract is rich in vitamin C helping cleanse the skin of unwanted oils and other substances. It helps repair the skin.

Rooibos Extract

Rooibos is a powerful anti-ageing ingredient used to help protect the skin from environmental stressors due to the naturally occurring vitamin D and zinc. Rooibos is known to soothe sensitive skin.

Rose Petal Powder

Rose powder is made using the finest roses. It contains a myriad of naturally occurring components that benefits all skin types especially sensitive and mature skin

Rosehip Oil

This oil is produced from the seeds contained within red rosehips. Rosehip is considered a luxury oil and is a good source of essential fatty acids which help lock moisture onto the skin.

Sea Buckthorn Oil

Sea buckthorn oil packed with vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids. It is widely used for its healing and rejuvenating effects. It is a great natural cleanser and exfoliator.

Sea Kelp Extract

Sea kelp is naturally anti-ageing and contains anti-cellulite properties. It draws out any excess fluid, dead cells and toxins. It can improve suppleness and the elasticity of the skin. It can stimulate the renewal of damaged skin cells, detoxify, cleanse and tone the skin.

Shea Butter

This natural moisturiser comes from the fruit of the African Karite tree and has remarkable nourishing and smoothing properties. Shea butter is particularly useful in counteracting dryness as it helps to seal moisture onto the skin.

Silk peptide protein

Silk proteins provide and retain moisture preventing the skin from dehydrating and giving it a smooth, silky feel. Our silk peptide protein is from a non-animal derived protein and suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

Sodium lauryl glucose carboxylate

A sugar based cleanser produced from naturally occurring raw materials, using natural processes.

Strawberry extract

Rich in polyphenols and vitamin C, strawberry extract provides protection for the skin, contains soothing properties and is a wonderful toner to reduce the appearance of pores.

Sunflower Oil

A light, easily absorbed oil very high in antioxidant vitamin E and Omega 9 fatty acids.  Other skin-beneficial nutrients include vitamins A, D, minerals, lecithin and squalene.  Both moisturising and soothing, it helps promote healing and protects the skin from free radicals and sun damage.

Sweet almond oil

This light emollient oil is produced from the almond kernels and helps keep the skin soft and smooth. The oil is rich in vitamin E, monounsaturated fatty acids, proteins, potassium and zinc and a host of other minerals and vitamins.

Sweet orange essential oil

Sweet orange is a refreshing, uplifting essential oil extracted from the peel of Mediterranean oranges. It is known to energise and calm tension whilst being an excellent skin toner.

Tea tree essential oil

This essential oil is produced by distilling the leaves of the tree resulting in a fresh, aromatic, antiseptic and anti-fungal oil. Widely used in the skincare industry to help spots and acne.

Vegetable glycerine

Found in most soaps and shampoos, glycerin helps to condition skin and hair.

Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid)

Vitamin C is an antioxidant that helps slow the rate at which skin ages by helping prevent damage to the skin’s natural collagen.

Vitamin E (Tocopherol)

Vitamin E is an antioxidant that helps protect and repair skin from free radical damage caused by pollution and the sun. Antioxidants are agents that help neutralise the oxidant effect of free radicals that damage collagen causing skin dryness and wrinkles.

Xanthan Gum

Xanthun Gum is a naturally-occurring substance that adds thickness to lotions and creams.

Zinc oxide

This healing, antiseptic mineral naturally occurs in small quantities in the body. It reflects UV light giving it broad UVA and UVB sun-screening properties.
