EcoSilk
Since tweaking some formulations recently, we have had customer enquiries as to the ingredient ‘Isoamyl laurate & isoamyl cocoate’.
This ingredient is found in our oil cleansers and bath & body oils.
So, what is it exactly?
Better known as EcoSilk, this colourless and odourless vegetable-based ingredient acts an emollient. It is 100% biodegradable and made from renewable natural sources such as sugar beet and coconut. An emollient softens your skin and is often considered the same as a moisturiser.
EcoSilk is used as a natural alternative to silicone, giving the oils a silky and elegant feel. It also helps increase spreadability – plus it is a great makeup remover!
Blending plant oils
As we know too well, blending plant oils together to have not only the desired therapeutic effect but also an elegant feel, can seem like an impossible task.
Oils such as castor and vitamin E, often found in oil cleansing products, have exceptional functions but can feel unpleasant, sticky and heavy on your skin. EcoSilk helps reduce the tackiness of these oils, makes them feel lighter and helps them spread across your skin evenly.
