Moroccan black soap (savon noir / savon beldi)

Face

Scoop out less than a penny sized amount of black soap (savon noir) and mix with a few drops of water. Apply to your face & neck and remove using warm water. Argan oil can be added to this mix if your skin feels dry. Avoid applying black soap near your eyes and mouth

Facial Exfoliation

Apply a small amount of black soap to your face (avoiding eyes and mouth). Using a kessa glove rub very gently over your facial area. Rinse with warm water avoiding any further scrubbing. Exfoliate your face once a week

Body

Black soap (savon noir) can be used daily. Wash as you would with a regular soap by massaging black soap into your skin. Rinse off using warm water. Exfoliation with a kessa glove should only be performed once to twice a week

Shampoo

Black soap works well to rid your hair of dirt and to deeply wash your scalp. After use rinse your hair with lukewarm water and finish by using your regular shampoo. Only use occasionally as a shampoo

Liquid Soap

Black soap is organic and if used in the bathroom it will soften over time due to the heat from the bath or shower. Don’t worry, black soap can still be used in liquid form for both body and hands

GHASSOUL CLAY (rhassoul clay / rasul clay)

Face

Mix approximately 1 tsp. of ghassoul clay with water to create a smooth thick paste and add a few drops of argan oil. Leave for a few minutes while the clay absorbs the liquid. Stir well and apply to your dry face, avoiding the area around your eyes. Let the mask harden for 5-10 minutes. Rinse off using warm water. If your face feels slightly dry after removal of the mask use a few drops of argan oil as a moisturiser

Soap / Shower Gel

Mix 3-5 tbsp. of ghassoul clay with water to create a smooth paste, add a few drops of argan oil. Leave for a few minutes while the clay absorbs the liquid. Spread the ghassoul clay over your body and rinse off with warm water. Ghassoul (rhassoul) comes from the Arabic word rassala which means ‘to wash’

Shampoo – Conditioner

Mix ghassoul clay with water to create a thin paste. Leave for a few minutes while the ghassoul clay absorbs the liquid. Apply to your hair by massaging from your scalp downwards, finishing at the tips of your hair. Rinse hair thoroughly. Towel dry and comb through hair. Conditioner is not necessary as the hair is conditioned by the clay. It may take a good few washes for your hair to respond to ghassoul clay as a shampoo (and feel tangled during this process). This is perfectly normal as the ghassoul clay removes the build-up of chemicals and silicone that is found in the majority of shampoos and hair treatments
