Ever feel a little sluggish in the morning? I know I can! This blog article can help in your journey to gain energy and stamina.
Although a strong cuppa may do the trick, enjoying a healthy lifestyle is the most powerful tool to kicking those sluggish feelings.
Feeling energised all day depends on many factors, how much you sleep you get, stress levels, age… the list goes on.
Here are a few tips to help you.
You know this already. Right?
Avoid processed foods where possible. This means less crisps, less sweets, less over-manufactured food in general. Aim to eat whole foods and a diet full of fruits, vegetables and nuts. I follow a vegan diet, but veganism isn’t for everyone. If you enjoy meat and fish ensure you buy organic and not farmed.
Look at Moroccans for inspiration. The Moroccan souk is full to the brim of fruits and vegetables, boasting a vast array of colours. Food is home cooked and packed full of goodness.
Get enough sleep
I remember back in the day that I could easily pull an all-nighter and still get up at the crack of dawn for work, hangover free. It is safe to say that those days are well and truly over.
Depriving your body of sleep is depriving yourself of healthy energy. As a mum to a child that didn’t sleep a full night until he turned two, I know how desperate sleep deprivation can make you feel.
Having trouble sleeping? Look at your bed-time habits. Turn off screens way before you turn in for the night and leave the caffeine behind.
Aim for a good eight hours of sleep a night to wake up energised and ready for whatever the day may have in store.
Positive mental attitude
Surrounding yourself with negativity, whether it be family, friends or colleagues can drain your mood. Instead, hang out with friends that make you smile, make you laugh and radiate positivity. Positivity lifts energy which in turn encourages a productive and positive day.
I love yoga. I am sure that comes as no surprise. However, what may surprise you is that yoga is a relatively new passion of mine.
Alongside the skincare side of Nuts Organic, I perform two-hour massage experiences based around the Moroccan Hammam. Depending on factors such as sleep and diet, these treatments can quickly drain my energy levels.
Yoga helps my stamina and helps strengthen my muscles.
Exercise doesn’t have to consist of hard-hitting workouts to be effective, just walking the dog or a gentle swim can help your energy levels increase dramatically.
Find your passion
Do you love cooking, painting, reading, knitting? We all have a passion for something.
Spending some time doing what you love will boost your mood enormously, giving you a positive mindset. Ensuring you spend some time on yourself each day will give you that burst of energy and bring out your best.
Life is about living. Work to live, don’t live to work.
Keeping your body and mind healthy will keep your energy at optimum levels, give you confidence and a clear mind.
You can do it! I know you can!
